Still trying to recover from latest Slackware upgrade

That latest Slackware upgrade, the one that came through on Friday 13th, contained a lot of changes. Only two things were affected and that's good considering how many changes came down the pipeline.

I've been waiting for the latest version of FVWM to flow down, and it finally has. I went from FVWM version 2.4.20 to 2.6.5. That's a big jump, and there's a lot of configuration changes that came with that big jump. I'll have to spend this weekend going over everything again looking for new things I can incorporate. In the meantime, I have upgraded my FVWM config files enough to get back to usual behaviour.

My biggest problem right now is that the Java Runtime Engine was removed from Libraries and the Java Development Kit was removed from Extras. I needed one or both of them. Now, aTunes won't run. I have read the notes that came with that change and Patrick says "Next, Java has gone away due to licensing restrictions." Well, shit.

I will have to find if there is some way I can get the jre or jdk myself. I also note that when I do "about:plugins" in Firefox, I have no Java support any more.
